Another meal saving tip

Next time you find boneless chicken breast on sale buy several packs, bring them home throw them in either a large pot and boil them or in the crock pot until they're done. Pull out, and cool. Tear it apart and put barbecue sauce on it and put it in a quart freezer bag based on your families serving size. There's four of us so I put enough for seven sandwiches in a freezer bag. You can also do these in single servings for lunch. Next time you're in a pinch and need something quick, pull this out of the freezer, throw it in a microwave, grab some hamburger buns and chips from the store and "wa-la" dinner is served. The thing is it doesn't take any longer to cook twelve pieces of chicken than it does for four and you only have to clean up the mess once and you have three or four meals. This one is a major staple around my home.

BTW: you can buy chicken frozen by the case up in Cumming, GA at Tyson's for a very cheap price, this makes this idea even better when you're able to get by there.

Meal saving tip for busy wives. Save time and money.

I like to shop in bulk and when I can I buy the larger packs of ground chuck on sale. I use to bring it home and break it up into 1 pound packages and then freeze. I have learned that when I purchase it in the 5pound plus package not only do I save money but I can also save time. When I get it home I go ahead and brown it all then put it in 1 pound packages. This makes it easy to pull out for tacos, hamburger helper, vegatable soup, or to add to spagetti. Not having to stand over the stove and thaw it makes it so easy to use right out of the freezer.

Hope this helps some other busy wives out there. I know with trying to do the marketing, teaching and learning about social marketing, blogging and everything else, I don't want to worry about dinner time.

More about me :-)

Top 5 Pet Peeves for profile pictures.

Just ran across this really great post talking about social marketing and your profile pictures for Facebook, Twitter, Myspace and all the other places that you have profile pictures. It was talking about ten items that you don't use as your profile picture.

A few of these hit home:

1.“Trying To Be Sexy” Profile Picture. If you're not decent you're not getting added to my profile. I chose friends carefully.

2.“Blurred” or “Too Dark” Profile Picture. This one really bugs me, if I can't tell who you are, there's a good chance I'm not going to add you as a friend.

3.“Your Pet” As Your Profile Picture. "Do I know You?"

4. The "Faraway" Profile Picture. It is never fun to try and figure out who someone is.

5. The “No Picture At All” Profile Picture. This is the worst offense of all. Please put up a profile picture if you are using social media sites. People want to see you. And I have heard time and time again that people oftentimes won’t connect with people without pictures. Social media is “social.” So, show us who you are!

Sending a card is a great way to make some one smile

I don't know about you, but when I get a card in the mail it always makes me smile. It makes me smile even more if it's not Christmas or special event. I really like getting cards from my friends and family for no other reason except to say hello. Sending a card has a way of making you and the other person smile. When I send an unexpected card it always makes me laugh when I get around the person and hear how it made them feel. Making a person feel special is what SendOutCards is all about. It allows you to act on a prompting no matter what time it is. There’s no going to the store, then picking the right card, bringing it home, getting a stamp, and then mailing it. You can easily sit down at your computer, log in, pick a card, fill out the inside (in your own handwriting if you want) and hit send. Send out cards does the rest, they print it, stuff it, lick it put a real stamp on it and send it out.

Go Ahead, try it today, you can send a free card on me today at www.followuprobot.com

Atlanta home inspector advises buyers to get that new home inspected

Ran across this video from my friend John Watkins who is a home inspector in Tennessee. I thought this was great information. He's doing a 1 year warranty inspection for a $900,000 home. This is practically a brand new home and if the purchaser would have had a brand new home inspection done to begin with the wouldn't have had deadly gases leaking into their home for almost a year.

Alpharetta Home Inspector shares 10 things to help the inspection process go smoother!

As an Alpharetta Home Inspector I see things all the time that could be done to help the Sellers with the home inspection process. Sellers can speed up their home inspection by following these suggestions.

The inspection will go smoother, with fewer concerns that may delay their closing.

  1. Confirm that water, electric and gas service are on, with gas pilot lights burning.
  2. Remove any items blocking access to HVAC equipment, electric service panels, water heaters, attics and crawl spaces.
  3. Unlock areas the inspector must access - fence gates, attic doors or hatches, electric service panels, closets, and crawl spaces.
  4. Make sure pets won't hinder the inspection. Ideally, they should be removed from premises. Tell your agent about any pets at your home.
  5. Replace burned out bulbs to avoid a "Light is inoperable" report that may suggest an electrical problem.
  6. Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and replace dead batteries.
  7. Clean or replace dirty HVAC air filters. They should fit securely.
  8. Attend to broken or missing items like doorknobs, locks and latches; windowpanes, screens and locks; gutters, downspouts and chimney caps.
  9. Lower the grade 6" all the way around the home.
  10. Trim tree limbs to 10' from the roof and shrubs from the house to allow access.

Checking these areas before your home inspection is an investment in selling your property. Your real estate agent will thank you!
